The Location

Newton Ferrers is about 10 miles from Plymouth and only a short drive to Dartmoor and various South Devon beaches such as Bigbury.  There are plenty of walks in the vicinity including the South Devon coastal path with views of the Mewstone and Plymouth Sound.  The village has a pub (about 10 doors away), yacht club, post office, butcher and local store.  Noss Mayo, on the opposite side of the estuary, has two pubs both serving good food.  At low tide you can walk over the Voss on the river bed to Noss Mayo.
